1. StaffZone:
The first way to access the Portal is through StaffZone. StaffZone has been around for a while now, however its main use has been primarily accessing your remote desktop, connecting to District sites from outside of the firewall, etc. This has however been updated throughout the past year. They have taken StaffZone and made it a starting point for access to all of our Google Apps that we have available to us here at EPSB.
To get started, it is quite easy. Simply open up StaffZone (http://staffzone.epsb.ca) and proceed to log in!
Once you have logged in, you will see a box that is open showing you several different Google Apps that you can click on. Now, these are not all of the Apps that are available to us (There are actually now a whole bunch! A list that keeps growing every week it seems!), but these are the most commonly used ones.
By clicking on these buttons, you will be taken directly into the world of Google!!
Another option you have from here, inside of StaffZone, is to click on the Share button on the left, which will take you to a list of all of the Google Apps that we currently have available to us here at EPSB!
2. SchoolZone
The second way to access the Portal is by logging into SchoolZone (http://schoolzone.epsb.ca).
Once you have logged into SchoolZone, you will notice that in the past few weeks a new tab has been added to the top. There is a now a new tab labelled Google Apps which will allow you to select which Google App you would like to use!
From here you can link directly to your Google Docs, Google Sites and Google Mail. If you would like to access a Google App that doesn't have an icon, simply click on the icon for More.
And the bonus?? You can access all of your Google Apps at home without your USB Key if you log in through SchoolZone! Yay! I don't know about you, but it sure makes my life easier! :)
If you don't already have SchoolZone or StaffZone as a bookmark, I suggest you add it. It makes life nice and easy to be able to simply click a button and be on your way, as opposed to constantly searching Google...
Hope this was helpful! If you have any other questions about how to access Google Apps, do not hesitate to ask! Below you will find the link to the Feedback Survey as well as the Presentation that was used during our session today.
